In 2025, we’ve made significant strides in innovation at Voys. Not only because we want to remain a leader in business communications, but also because we have noticed that Freedom customers expect more and more from their telephony platform. And rightly so. You want to be fast, easy, and accessible to your customers, and we want you to have everything you need to do exactly that.

In this annual overview, we list the latest Freedom features for you. Compact, convenient, and with practical benefits for your organisation. And the best part? You can use them all today.

Call transcriptions (beta)

With the call transcription feature, every recorded call is automatically converted to text. Ideal for quickly searching for what was discussed or for using calls as training material for new colleagues.

Want to know more? Here are 5 smart ways to use Call transcriptions for your business. You can easily activate this feature in Freedom under the AI settings. During the beta period, the feature is available for free. Good to know: in order to convert conversations to text, they must be recorded. You can do this by turning on Call Recording.

Call summaries (beta)

No time to listen back to entire calls? The call summaries feature does it for you. Based on the transcript, Freedom automatically creates a short and clear summary of the most important points. Get more out of your customer calls with Call summaries.

Extra handy: do you use a CRM link? Then the summary is loaded directly into the customer profile. This gives everyone in the team immediate context for the customer in question. You can do this via our own pop-up CRM integration or you can build a link yourself via our open API.

Version management for dial plans

You may be familiar with this scenario: you quickly adjust a dial plan, but then it doesn’t work as you expected, or you accidentally delete it. Don’t panic! This year, we added version management to dial plans. This new feature allows you to restore previous versions of your dial plan. Of course, you could already quickly adjust a dial plan, but now you can also select one of the previous versions. This allows you to work on your availability with greater confidence.

Contact book on desk phone

Contacts that you add to the contact book of the web phone or app now also automatically appear on the screen of your desk phone when you receive an incoming call. Because you can import your contacts in bulk into the web phone or mobile app, you no longer need to load them into your desk phone one by one. This way, you can import all your contacts at once. Handy, because you can immediately see who is calling, regardless of which device you answer with, and adding separate contacts to your desk phone is a thing of the past!

The queue: smarter and more customer-friendly

No one likes waiting. Especially when no one is answering. One of the first Freedom features, the queue module, now takes the status of your colleagues into account. Is everyone set to ‘Do Not Disturb’ or ‘Offline’? Then that queue is immediately skipped and the caller is transferred directly to the next step in your dial plan. No more wasted waiting time, just better service.

Even more useful improvements

In addition to the above developments, a number of small but powerful optimisations have been implemented:

  • Improved voicemail transcription
No more missing first sentences or truncated endings. Based on privacy-friendly AI, transcriptions have become more complete and accurate.
  • Filters in call groups
You can now filter by User or VoIP account in the portal. This is very useful if you work with multiple call groups.
  • UUID easier to find
For those who create links via our API: the UUIDs are now easier to find under Personal settings.

These new and improved features are no coincidence

The new Freedom features and improvements to existing features in 2025 are part of a larger movement. We have been busy developing a completely new desktop application and mobile app. These new apps will soon form the hub of your customer communications, including essential context from previous interactions with your customer. Of course, you can still make calls in the new applications, but other communication channels will also be added, starting with WhatsApp for Business.

We are building these new apps with good reason. We are in the midst of transitioning from a telecom provider to a relationship builder, as Mark previously described in this blog post about our strategic direction. This is how we are preparing for the future: Freedom grows with you and offers more and more tools to make customer contact smarter, more personal, and more efficient.

Ready to get started?

All of the Freedom features mentioned above are now available in the portal. You don’t need to be an expert to use them: they are easy to activate by yourself on the platform. Need advice? We are here to help!
