Conference now for free for all customers
At Voys, we’ve decided that Conference, also known as conference calling, should be a free feature for all Voys customers until 31 December 2020.
We believe it’s our responsibility to help companies in this challenging time and want to do our bit. Facilitating optimal communication for companies with their customers and colleagues is desperately needed. That’s why we’re offering this feature free of charge until the end of the year.
Good to know
- For customers that currently already have the Conference feature, the subscription is free as per 23 March 2020.
- For customers that do not yet have the Conference feature, we will also waive the setup fees.
- External participants can access the conference via a direct phone number or IVR option on your main office number. If a new direct phone number is required, the standard rates for this number apply. - Without any notice of the contrary, the Conference feature will automatically become a paid service (R50/month) per 1/1/2021 (we will not charge setup fees). You can cancel at any time with no notice period.
How does it work?
With the Conference feature, companies can set up a virtual telephone conference room with unlimited participants. A PIN code secures the conference room. Both colleagues and external callers can dial in.
On Freedom, your phone system in the cloud, you can add your conference room(s).
During setup, you can add the extension number for the teleconference room. This is a 3-digit number that colleagues can dial internally with their Voys phone. If you want the conference to be accessible from outside, create a new regular phone number. You can then also invite external parties to dial in. Lastly, create a Dialplan to link the conference to the phone number.
When people dial in, they will first be prompted to type in a PIN code set by the admin. Then the caller will be added to the conference room. If you are the first one, you will hear a waiting tone. When someone enters the room, and also when someone leaves the room, you will hear a sound.
